Floor cease lifted at KCI after COVID-related cleansing closed management tower

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Some flights out of Kansas Metropolis Worldwide Airport have been delayed after a floor cease was issued Tuesday morning.

The FAA informed KCTV5 the management tower at KCI closed at 6:30 a.m. for COVID-related cleansing. That order was lifted at 9 a.m.

Reporter Eric Graves from CBS4 in Indianapolis tweeted {that a} pilot introduced the KCI air site visitors management tower was down as a result of COVID instances.

The Kansas Metropolis Air Route Site visitors Management Middle had assumed management of the airspace for a bit longer than 2 hours, the FAA said.

The KCI management tower has resumed full operation, the airport said.
