BLANCHARD, La. – Caddo deputies arrested a Blanchard man after he hit an occupied patrol automobile close to the scene of an earlier crash, mentioned Sheriff Steve Prator.
At roughly 2:44 a.m. on Friday, a 1996 Ford Ranger struck a marked CPSO Okay-9 unit that was blocking the roadway throughout a railway crash investigation. The CPSO unit had its emergency lights activated to dam LA 173 at Smith Lane.

A short chase ensued north on LA 173. Caddo Fireplace District 1 was requested to dam the roadway to guard the primary responders engaged on the earlier incident. The suspect stopped after encountering Engine 122 blocking the freeway.
David Hanus, 59, was arrested and charged with ignoring site visitors controls, hit and run, flight from an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia. He’s being investigated for DUI.
Senior Deputy Marc Herring and Okay-9 Loki, who have been contained in the patrol automobile that was hit, weren’t injured within the incident.
